Monica Titus, MBA, BSN, RN
Regional Chief Executive Officer
Monica joined Acuity Specialty Hospital in 2013. She has more than 20 years of diverse health care leadership experience, most recently as the Trauma and Neurosciences Program Director at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Monica holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master in Business Administration from Widener University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. She lives in Williamstown, NJ with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, and a parrot. She enjoys spending time at the Jersey shore doing any water activity and riding her road bike.
Edward Hamaty, DO

Dr. Edward Hamaty is an esteemed pulmonary and critical care specialist. His expertise and knowledge align well with Acuity’s mission of treating medically complex and critically ill patients. Since 2005, Dr. Hamaty serves as the chief medical officer of Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey. Since 2011, he also serves as the director of pulmonary program at Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey. During his three decades in medicine, Dr. Hamaty has held appointments at many of the leading hospitals in South Jersey and Philadelphia and continues to serve on the Board of Directors at Acuity Healthcare.
Dr. Hamaty earned Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry, graduating cum laude, and biology from the University of Pittsburgh. He attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, becoming a Doctor of Osteopathy. He graduated first in his class of 122 and was named Valedictorian. Dr. Hamaty is board certified in internal medicine, medical diseases of the chest (pulmonary), and critical care medicine.
Chief Executive Officer
Garrett Arneson joined Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey in May 2017. He is a seasoned executive in senior leadership roles. The majority of his experience has been in specialty hospitals, most recently as the CEO of LifeCare Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Garrett began his career as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University. He achieved his Masters in Heath Systems from the University of Denver, Denver Colorado. Most recently he completed a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Compliance from George Washington University, Washington, D. C. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Garrett is a proud South Jersey resident and is excited to begin his first position in New Jersey.
Kimberly Fetterolf, BSN, RN
Chief Clinical Officer
Kim Fetterolf joined Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey in 2006 as a staff nurse. Before her appointment as Director of Clinical Services in 2011, she worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager and the Director of Clinical Services. Over her 15 years of working in healthcare, Kim has garnered clinical experience in critical care nursing, trauma, cardio-thoracic surgery, and emergency medicine. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Holy Family University, and is an active member of the New Jersey Hospital Association and the American Hospital Association.
Jenn Trallo Schreiber, MBA, MSN, RN, CPPS
Regional Chief Quality, Safety, and Risk Officer, Acuity Specialty Hospital and Corporate CMS Quality Analyst, Acuity Healthcare
Jenn joined Acuity Specialty Hospital in 2009 and serves as the hospital’s Regional Chief Quality, Safety, and Risk Officer in addition to her corporate role as the CMS Quality Analyst for Acuity Healthcare. Jenn has more than 20 years of health care experience, and served as a Clinical Outcomes Manager at Cooper University Hospital prior to joining Acuity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New York University, and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration in Health Care, both from Wilmington University. Jenn is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety. She lives in Egg Harbor Township, NJ with her husband Bruce, son Gabriel, and dog. She enjoys travel, boating, the beach, Excel spreadsheets and Eagles football.
Regional Chief Financial Officer
Doug brings nearly 30 years of healthcare financial leadership to the Acuity Healthcare team. Prior to joining the Acuity team, he served as Chief Financial and Operating Officer for John Brooks Recovery Center as well as the Chief Financial Officer for various Senior Communities that included Short-term sub-acute care as well. Doug graduated from The American University in Washington, DC with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Accounting. Doug resides in Voorhees with his wife, twin 21 year old son and daughter and cat. He is an avid golfer and collector of sports memorabilia.
Director of Case Management
Becky Johnson joined Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey in 2008 as a social worker. Before her appointment as the Director of Case Management in 2016 she worked as the Social Work Supervisor and the Social Work Manager. Over her 14 years in social work and healthcare, Becky has gained extensive experience in ethics, Medicare, Medicaid, mental health, substance abuse, crisis intervention, and trauma which she uses to ensure excellent service for patients and their families. Becky received her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and her Bioethics Certification from St. Joe’s University. She completed her clinical license in 2013 with over 1900 hours of clinical service.

Michael J. Conrad, MD
Dr. Conrad was appointed the Nephrology Program Director in February 2007. Dr. Conrad plans, develops and manages the nephrology and dialysis programs and maintains expertise in metabolic diseases. Dr. Conrad is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Conrad holds membership in the following associations: American College of Physicians, National Kidney Foundation, American Society of Nephrology, International Society of Nephrology, and Renal Physicians Association. He serves as a DaVita Dialysis Center Medical Director and is a founding member and partner of The Center for Kidney Care.
Eduardo Fernandez, MD
Dr. Fernandez was appointed the Medically Complex/Ethics Program Director in May 2015. Dr. Fernandez is responsible for providing the medically complex patient a goal-oriented program of specialized inpatient services, greater frequency in physician care and more aggressive therapeutic and clinical interventions. Dr. Fernandez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (1992) recertified (2002) by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hematology (1996) recertified (2007) and Oncology (1997) recertified (2017). Dr. Fernandez holds membership in the following associations: American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Theta Xi Fraternity and Alpha Omega Alpha.
Thomas W. Grookett, MD
Dr. Grookett was appointed the Pulmonary Program Director in July 2018. Dr. Grookett formulates policies governing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, participates in the development, evaluation and introduction of new respiratory services, equipment, protocols and procedures as well as monitoring current respiratory services for continued medical usefulness. Dr. Grookett is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine (2009), Critical Care (2010) and Sleep Disorders (2011).
Edward Hamaty, DO, FACCP, FACOI
Dr. Hamaty was appointed the Chief Medical Officer in October 2013. Dr. Hamaty holds the senior medical administrative position of the facility, with responsibility for activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance and medical protocol development. Dr. Hamaty is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine with the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hamaty is Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee for Acuity Specialty Hospital of NJ, Director of Pulmonary Services – Acuity Specialty Hospital of NJ, Medical Director Neurosciences Medical Critical Care Service – AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – City Division.
Tracey Harris, MD
Dr. Harris was appointed the PM&R Program Director in November 2016. Dr. Harris leads the physical medicine and rehabilitation programs (rehabilitation medicine, physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology) ensuring regulatory compliance in all settings and levels of patient care and meeting performance targets and benchmarks for the clinical and administrative activities within the hospital. Dr. Harris is a Diplomat in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) (1999) appointed by the American Board of PM&R.
Gregory G. Mukalian, DO, F.A.C.O.S., WCC
Dr. Mukalian was appointed the Wound Care Program Director in December 2007. Dr. Mukalian is accountable to the medical staff for the quality of patient care delivered by the comprehensive wound care treatment team providing state-of-the-art methods and approaches for treating problem wounds utilizing research-based protocols to identify and correct impediments to healing. Dr. Mukalian is Board Certified in General Surgery (1992) by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Dr. Mukalian holds membership in the following associations: American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (Member of In-Depth Review Committee 97-00, Board Certification Candidate Tester 1994-Present, General Surgery In-Service Examination Committee 2001-2016), New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, Burlington County Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
Mazher Rasool, MD
Dr. Rasool was appointed the Infection Prevention Program Director in July 2017. Dr. Rasool directs and oversees an infection prevention program that mitigates the risks associated with the care of medically complex, critically ill patients who suffer from multi-antibiotic resistant pathogens while maximizing the likelihood of positive clinical outcomes. Dr. Rasool is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (2010) and Board Certified in Infectious Disease (2014) by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Rasool is a consulting Infectious Disease provider in a large single-specialty practice, affiliated with Virtua Health System. Dr. Rasool holds membership in the American College of Physicians (ACP), Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), International Antiviral Society (IAS-USA), and The Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).
Rasesh Pravin Shah, MD
Dr. Shah was appointed the Otolaryngology Program Director in December 2009. Dr. Shah oversees the comprehensive medical and surgical management of patients having diseases and disorders that affect the ears, the upper respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures of the head and neck. Dr. Shah is Board Certified in Otolaryngology (2007) by the American Board Otolaryngology.
An application for membership satisfying all requirements outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws must be completed. The application must be completely filled out, with signatures and all supporting documents supplied before the application is complete and ready to submit to Medical Staff/Credentialing Services.
