Michael J. Conrad, MD
Dr. Conrad was appointed the Nephrology Program Director in February 2007. Dr. Conrad plans, develops and manages the nephrology and dialysis programs and maintains expertise in metabolic diseases. Dr. Conrad is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Conrad holds membership in the following associations: American College of Physicians, National Kidney Foundation, American Society of Nephrology, International Society of Nephrology, and Renal Physicians Association. He serves as a DaVita Dialysis Center Medical Director and is a founding member and partner of The Center for Kidney Care.
Eduardo Fernandez, MD
Dr. Fernandez was appointed the Medically Complex/Ethics Program Director in May 2015. Dr. Fernandez is responsible for providing the medically complex patient a goal-oriented program of specialized inpatient services, greater frequency in physician care and more aggressive therapeutic and clinical interventions. Dr. Fernandez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (1992) recertified (2002) by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hematology (1996) recertified (2007) and Oncology (1997) recertified (2017). Dr. Fernandez holds membership in the following associations: American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Theta Xi Fraternity and Alpha Omega Alpha.
Thomas W. Grookett, MD
Dr. Grookett was appointed the Pulmonary Program Director in July 2018. Dr. Grookett formulates policies governing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, participates in the development, evaluation and introduction of new respiratory services, equipment, protocols and procedures as well as monitoring current respiratory services for continued medical usefulness. Dr. Grookett is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine (2009), Critical Care (2010) and Sleep Disorders (2011).
Edward Hamaty, DO, FACCP, FACOI
Dr. Hamaty was appointed the Chief Medical Officer in October 2013. Dr. Hamaty holds the senior medical administrative position of the facility, with responsibility for activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance and medical protocol development. Dr. Hamaty is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine with the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hamaty is Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee for Acuity Specialty Hospital of NJ, Director of Pulmonary Services – Acuity Specialty Hospital of NJ, Medical Director Neurosciences Medical Critical Care Service – AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – City Division.
Tracey Harris, MD
Dr. Harris was appointed the PM&R Program Director in November 2016. Dr. Harris leads the physical medicine and rehabilitation programs (rehabilitation medicine, physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology) ensuring regulatory compliance in all settings and levels of patient care and meeting performance targets and benchmarks for the clinical and administrative activities within the hospital. Dr. Harris is a Diplomat in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) (1999) appointed by the American Board of PM&R.
Gregory G. Mukalian, DO, F.A.C.O.S., WCC
Dr. Mukalian was appointed the Wound Care Program Director in December 2007. Dr. Mukalian is accountable to the medical staff for the quality of patient care delivered by the comprehensive wound care treatment team providing state-of-the-art methods and approaches for treating problem wounds utilizing research-based protocols to identify and correct impediments to healing. Dr. Mukalian is Board Certified in General Surgery (1992) by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Dr. Mukalian holds membership in the following associations: American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (Member of In-Depth Review Committee 97-00, Board Certification Candidate Tester 1994-Present, General Surgery In-Service Examination Committee 2001-2016), New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, Burlington County Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
Mazher Rasool, MD
Dr. Rasool was appointed the Infection Prevention Program Director in July 2017. Dr. Rasool directs and oversees an infection prevention program that mitigates the risks associated with the care of medically complex, critically ill patients who suffer from multi-antibiotic resistant pathogens while maximizing the likelihood of positive clinical outcomes. Dr. Rasool is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (2010) and Board Certified in Infectious Disease (2014) by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Rasool is a consulting Infectious Disease provider in a large single-specialty practice, affiliated with Virtua Health System. Dr. Rasool holds membership in the American College of Physicians (ACP), Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), International Antiviral Society (IAS-USA), and The Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).
Rasesh Pravin Shah, MD
Dr. Shah was appointed the Otolaryngology Program Director in December 2009. Dr. Shah oversees the comprehensive medical and surgical management of patients having diseases and disorders that affect the ears, the upper respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures of the head and neck. Dr. Shah is Board Certified in Otolaryngology (2007) by the American Board Otolaryngology.
An application for membership satisfying all requirements outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws must be completed. The application must be completely filled out, with signatures and all supporting documents supplied before the application is complete and ready to submit to Medical Staff/Credentialing Services.
